Adam in good shape for Stoke - Hughes

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes says Charlie Adam has "worked hard" to win back place in the starting line-up.

The 30-year-old midfielder has not figured over the last year as much as in his first two seasons with Stoke.

But he started Stoke's last two games and, although too late for an international recall to face England, Hughes is still pleased with the Scot.

"He's in good physical condition at the moment. That's really encouraging for him and for us," said Hughes.

"In the past, Charlie will admit himself that, in games, to keep the intensity he plays at and the energy that he shows, he has found it difficult to complete 90 minutes on occasions.
