The Sharks addressed their depth on defense by signing unrestricted free agent David Schlemko to a four-year, $8.4 million deal on Friday.
Schlemko, 29, spent last season with New Jersey — his fourth team in two seasons — and scored six goals and 19 points in 67 games with the Devils. Schlemko is a versatile left-handed rear guard who can play in all situations, including on a second power-play unit and the penalty kill.
“He is coming off of a very productive season in New Jersey, and we think he will fit in well with our group,” Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said in a statement released by the team.
