Patrick Roy just resigned as head coach and vice president of hockey operations for the Colorado Avalanche. This probably sounds familiar to Montreal Canadiens fans, the team he walked out on (or stormed out on?) after being left in too long in a blowout defeat against the Red Wings.
Here’s what Roy said about his decision to leave the Avalanche:
"I have thought long and hard over the course of the summer about how I might improve this team to give it the depth it needs to bring it to a higher level," Roy said in a statement.
