The Washington Redskins were not supposed to be in this situation. Two weeks before the regular season, they benched their starting quarterback and promoted their backup. This is their first year under the control of GM Scot McCloughan and only the second under Head Coach Jay Gruden. Everything from here on out may be icing on the cake to a fan base that is experiencing only their second division championship on this side of Y2K.
