The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went 2-14 and 6-10 in two years under Lovie Smith, and lost five of their last six games in 2015 (including defeats at the hands of the Colts, Saints, Rams, and Bears), so it's not a huge surprise that Lovie Smith was fired. The surprise is when the announcement was made -- approximately 10 p.m. local time on a Wednesday night, more than 72 hours after the last game of the season. Did Smith do something wrong Tuesday afternoon or something?
Anyway, Smith joins Greg Schiano, Raheem Morris, and Jay Gruden as coaches fired by Tampa Bay in the past eight seasons.
