MUNCIE, Ind. — The preseason AP poll came out Wednesday morning, and Ball State, interestingly enough, received votes.
As it turns out, that appears to have been due to a mistake by one of the voters.
Seth Davis, a college basketball reporter for CBS Sports and The Fieldhouse, fessed up to the error Wednesday evening on Twitter. According to CollegePollTracker.com, Davis was the only one to vote Ball State into the Top 22, ranking the Cardinals 22nd, which is odd considering he had consensus Top 25 team Purdue at No. 24. None of the other 64 voters ranked Ball State.
