Local notes: Another Ball State player signs with MLB team

MUNCIE, Ind. — Another former Ball State player recently signed a professional contract, as Kevin Marnon inked a deal with the Minnesota Twins. Marnon started a team-high 13 games on the mound, leading the Cardinals in wins (6) and innings pitched (70.2).

"Without the support from my coaches and teammates, none of this would be possible," Marnon said in a Ball State release.

Marnon, who was slated to report to the Twins' Rookie League squad on Sunday, is the second Cardinial to sign a free-agent deal this summer as Alex Maloney signed with the Chicago White Sox.
