Chris Beard's record-breaking season as UALR's men's basketball coach has attracted interest from other programs.
Beard was in Las Vegas on Saturday to interview for the coaching position at UNLV, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Saturday.
UALR Athletic Director Chasse Conque, in a text message to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette on Saturday, said only that UNLV had asked for permission to speak with Beard. Conque did not confirm Beard was interviewing, nor did he specify when UNLV asked for permission to speak with Beard.
Beard, who led UALR to a 30-5 record and a victory over Purdue in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, couldn't be reached for comment.
