LITTLE ROCK – Deondre Burns enters his sophomore season as one of eight returning lettermen from Little Rock's record-setting 2015-16 team.
Playing behind Josh Hagins, Marcus Johnson Jr. and Jermaine Ruttley – two All-Sun Belt performers and a former double-digit scorer – Burns appeared in 18 games with one start in 2015-16. He made all 12 of his free throws on the season. The Newman-Smith High School product scored a season-high seven points vs. Centenary on Nov. 18.
Burns was an honor roll student and led Texas' 5A classification in scoring as a senior at Newman-Smith.
